I’m a college student and I have recently received my student loan. With part of this money I need to purchase a good laptop. I really know nothing about computers and I need help picking one out that is good for what I intend on using it for. I really want an entertainment laptop. I want it to work well for video games, music, movies, and photo shop. Another feature I would like it to have is a DVD burner.

Should I purchase a laptop for college when I already own my own desktop computer?

I have my own personal desktop computer, which is only about two and a half years old. I haven’t decided whether or not to purchase a laptop because it seems pointless to me to have two different computers. I would like the ability to bring a laptop to my classes, but part of me can’t see the reasoning behind buying an expense computer when I already have a perfectly good one.

Should I purchase a laptop or simply bring my own computer to college?

1. Buy another 512 MB stick and use with the existing stick
2. Get a 1 GB stick and don’t use the previous stick
3. Get two 512 MB sticks and don’t use the previous stick
I’m pretty sure my laptop supports dual channel up to 533 Mhz RAM, so I’m guessing two sticks of 512 MB at 533 Mhz is my best choice.
Also, how is Mushkin as a RAM brand? This isn’t a performance laptop, just something for internet, movies, office work, and occasional games.
best choice laptop
