So I’m planning on purchasing a new laptop, and it’s intended for mostly school work and graphic design and basically just for general use that any high school student would have. It’s going to serve as a desktop computer for me because I prefer laptops over desktops. I want it to last for years to come and I just want to know which laptop sounds best for me. I also plan on upgrading the processor and memory. Any suggestions?

I have an HP Pavilion dv2000 laptop. My brother has the same laptop, but in a bigger version, and his charger broke, and I think mine is breaking, so I’m wondering if it’s possible to buy a charger.

I wan to buy a Thinkpad Z61t 14.1 widescreen notebook and it only comes with Intel GMA 950. I don’t really care about gaming. I am a big movie fan and want good quality video playback though. The system I am looking at is Intel Core Duo 2Ghz, 100GB HD (5400rpm), 1GB DDR2 (1 x 1, 667mhz), DVD Dual Layer Multiburner. Is it good that the screen isn’t glossy? It’s a WXGA (1280×768) screen. Will I regret purchasing an Intel GMA when Vista comes out? Would you configure the system differently? Is this a good computer in general and if not, any recommendations? I think I asked enough questions. I really appreciate the help.

We recently just bought a new router that connected to our modem on our main computer. Since we have a laptop we wanted to create a wireless internet connection but since I’m not computer saavy at all I have no idea what I’m doing. I connected the modem to the new router but am I supposed to also have an adapter to the laptop in order for the connection to work? If not, how do I get the internet to work? Any help would be great!
