i need a notebook for school, because i feel it would be very convenient. i searched online for the best, and so far i found these:
Sony Viao-NW Series http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?catalogId=10551storeId=10151langId=-1categoryId=8198552921644647989parentCategoryId=16154

Dell Inspiron 14z-http://www.dell.com/us/en/business/notebooks/laptop-studio-14z/pd.aspx?refid=laptop-studio-14zs=bsdcid=conscatcs=04dgc=IRlid=bn1ref=lthp

which one works better, and is worth getting?
and are they’re any other notebooks out there worth looking at? best ideas and options are great.
BTW,(my first choice is a macbook but they’re too expensive)so that’s out of the picture, unless you know of a place where i can get them for cheap.
I’m looking for ones that aren’t too expensive , aren’t too small, lightweight and has great quality and performance..

I am a student and I do not feel knowledgeable about laptop notebook computers. I want to buy one that can last for a couple of years, yet price is a big concern. After doing plenty of research about laptops, I feel completely clueless. Do you think you can recommend a laptop with the following information?

1. I will not use my laptop every day.

2. I will write many papers/presentations with it, and that is the main purpose of the purchase. Therefore, I would like a one that allows papers to be easily transferred to other computers and has good tools for academic projects.

3. I will use the internet with the laptop and that’s very important because the classes I am enrolled in often post things online and I have to turn documents in online.

4. I hopefully will have an iTunes account on it.

Those are the four criteria. The MacBook is really quite expensive for me, but do you think it would be better to buy high or just buy low due to my needs. I probably will never make songs and videos on it. Thanks for your help and consideration.

Im getting a laptop over the summer, since im starting high school and may need one.

im a little confused on to which laptop to get.
i like how the Sony Vaio in Red looks, and the keyboard is nice too, but i also like the Dell Latitude E6400 in Red. Which would be better? im pretty sure the Dell would be the best choice; but just to make sure.

Thanks to all answers,
but please make sure you know what you are talking about and not only putting ‘dell’ or ’sony’ for points.

i’m a sophomore in college and looking to invest in a good laptop. i need something that is pretty portable, a little bit more lightweight to carry from class to class but something that functions well and can hopefully last me into grad school. i don’t store a ton of movies or anything, but i would like enough room on it to be able to store part of my music collection and school files like power points and word documents.

i’m so overwhelmed by all of the choices out there. i saw this neat HP in one of my lecture classes, it converts from a normal laptop to a notepad type of computer. should i go for one of those? i think the netbooks are great, but i don’t want to strain my eyes and i don’t want to purchase two separate laptops. i need one that can store everything i need but that isn’t too heavy to carry to class or the library. any and all suggestions are appreciated! i’m open to macs, pcs, whatever you have found that works well and is durable.

I have an IBM laptop with Windows XP SP2 as the OS. During the last few days, I have received a few messages in my email from Sun microsystems saying that Solaris 10 is world’s latest, best and absolutely free OS and works well with IBM computers. Is Solaris 10 really better than Windows XP SP2? Should I think of installing Solaris 10 or should I just stick with my current OS?

I find out that Amazon accept foreign credit card online payment.
Dell requires foreign credit card holder to call them to place an order.
And HP Home accept no foreign credit card at all.
Could anybody know any webside where I can use foreign credit card to buy a laptop online? Thanks.
