Marc T asked:

I am looking for a laptop on eBay. I have found some good deals on computers that have powered on and entered into BIOS. The descriptions usually state that they have not conducted any further testing other than that.

What are my chances that everything will be fine with the computer, or should I buy one that has been tested further and been shown to enter into Windows successfully? Could this vary from computer to computer or is entering into BIOS reliable enough?

My son keep breaking his laptops . What should I purchase him That’s our third laptop(1 year). How can we solve this issue? His teacher told us that we should buy him an emachine. At least if he breaks it , it won’t cost us much. He does not want any PCs.

im going to be a freshman in college so I want to be able to use it for a good 6 years. I’ll need it to give me enough room to use it to save homework enough room to use it for my itunes, aswell as giving me extra storage to add on later if needed. My choices are: 1) Size: 160GB SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM) or 2)Size: 250GB SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM) ….there is about a $150 difference between the two
