As I need to buy a laptop for university next year, I’m wondering what kind I should get. I need one for basic stuff like running ms office, internet, writing papers, and storing pictures as well as music. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I have had my current laptop since the start of college. It’s a little over 5 years old and is ready to bite the dust (sadly, I love that computer). I am looking at buying a new one. However, I don’t know what to look for. I obviously want a good system but because I can’t pay more than about $1,000 I don’t know what to look for. I mainly use it for word processing and photography related things (and alot of them, I’m a photojournalist and travel writer) Can anyone give me some advice? I would like to go with a mainstream brand because I will likely need service and support in the future.
Thank you!

I need a laptop, perferably not a mac because it’s so expensive, but what is the best laptop that plays the Sims 3 that has all the requirements, but won’t slow down once it is downloaded?

I am buying an HP laptop, and chose an ATI Mobility HD 5370 graphics card as an option. The description says HDMI in it…does this mean the graphics card I chose will be integrated within the laptop, or is it something I have to plug into the HDMI port? Thanks.
